Reviews
The tiramisu was good / the Saltimbocca a la Romana outstanding - BUT super disspointment on the Rigatoni a la Carbonara. The pasta was not fresh / “home-made” but pre-made ones you by at the supermarket.
Of all the meals we had over 10 days and 5 cities visits, this was BY FAR the BEST meal we ate in all of Italy!
The rigatoni carbonara, and the gluten free version were both amazing!
Being gluten free it can be challenging to find really good pasta and dessert, Casa Prati has both!
Don’t miss out, skip the tourist areas and eat at Casa Prati!
My only regret if our trip was that we didn’t try this place sooner.
Buon appetito!
Lucky find. We were looking for a place for lunch and this was close to our hotel so we took a chance.
FOOD: Get try roman specialties on one plate: meatball, wrapped meat, and ox tail. These were fantastic. The sauce was excellent, not salty or sweet, and I liked how they poured sauce over the meat; more than enough to soak it with bread. Lamb liver and intestines were even better. No foul aroma or weird texture. Cooked just right with perfected marinated. Everything went well with the house wine.
PRICE: Average price (actually better than some touristy spots). Three dishes, a small bottle of wine, water, and bread were around €50.
SERVICE: Friendly service. Explain all dishes and made good recommendations.
LOCATION: No parking and may be difficult to find, but google map will get you close enough.
OVERALL: recommend for lunch or dinner in you are near the restaurant.
We arrived late in Rome and walked around Prati for a good pasta place. We stumbled upon this place and was seated almost immediately. The food, service, and vibes were amazing!
We got so excited that we ended up ordering a little bit of everything. Everything was so good, especially their Cacio e Pepe and Tiramisu. The prices were fair (definitely cheaper than any pasta place in America at this level of taste and quality of ingredients). Even with multiple bottles of wine, appetizers, and pasta for each of us... it was around 25-26 euros. Would definitely go back if we ever find ourselves in Rome again!
Delicious food (we especially enjoyed the gricia and the tiramisù). Friendly and attentive service. Overall a great experience!
Of course, the first thing I do getting off the plane is find a good pasta place. This was recommended by my sister. Little did I know, the waiters spoke very limited English... so Google + randomly meshing French words together somehow got me a plate of the most delicious gnocchi and a hefty, HEFTY glass of red wine.
Arrived in a very empty Rome—height of holiday/Roman vacation season—and were glad our friend had made a reservation. I had a very good la Barc’…cod in tomato sauce with zucchini, capers and olives. My wife a solid cacio pepe. Lovely laid back atmosphere, air conditioned interior, friendly staff. My daughter had the gnocchi, good and, oh, I had a creamed bruschetta with anchovies that was quite good as well.
Nice restaurant with a great carbonara! I’ll be back for sure if I’m ever in the area again.
